These terms are an agreement between you and Shortlist.expert (“we”, “us”) for using shortlist.expert and its emails. By creating an account, publishing a post or sending an application, you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal data.
In short
- Use Shortlist.expert for real hiring, and share only what you have the right to share.
- Applicants own their work. Companies may use it only to consider them for the post.
- AI drafts posts. People make every hiring decision.
- Shortlist.expert is free to use right now.
- We can remove posts or accounts that break these terms.
1. Who can use it
- You must be 18 or over.
- Give accurate details, and use your own account. Don’t pretend to be someone else.
- If you use Shortlist.expert for a company, you confirm you’re allowed to act for it, and these terms apply to the company too.
2. Your account
- You sign in with Google, or with a password if you set one. Keep your Google account and password secure.
- You’re responsible for what happens in your account. If you think someone else has used it, email us straight away.
- You can delete your account at any time from your account page.
3. For hiring teams
Posts
- Posts describe real work that’s available now. No fake posts, and no posts made to collect people’s details.
- Pay, hours, location and other facts you show must be accurate.
- Never charge applicants to apply, or ask for money, bank details or ID documents before a genuine offer.
- Ask for work people have already made. Don’t use a post to get free work done.
- Don’t include requirements that discriminate unlawfully, for example on gender, religion, caste, age or disability.
- You’re responsible for what you publish, including anything AI drafted for you.
Applicants and their work
- People on your team decide who moves forward. Shortlist.expert doesn’t score, rank or reject applicants.
- Use applicants’ work and details only to consider them for your posts, and for future roles only if they joined your talent pool. Don’t copy, publish, sell or use their work in your own projects, or use it to train AI.
- Keep applications private, and give access only to teammates who need it.
- Follow the employment, anti-discrimination and data protection laws that apply to you. What you do with applicants’ data outside Shortlist.expert is your responsibility.
Your team and sharing
- Admins decide who joins the workspace and what they can see. You’re responsible for how your teammates use Shortlist.expert.
- Only add people to your People list, or invite them, if you’re allowed to use their details.
- Share posts yourself, one group at a time. Don’t spam groups or automate personal WhatsApp or other messaging accounts.
- Published posts are public, and can appear on Google for Jobs, in search results and in link previews.
4. For applicants
- Send work you made or worked on, and say honestly what your part was. Don’t present other people’s work as yours.
- Check you’re allowed to share it. Remove anything a client asked you to keep confidential.
- The company you apply to sees what you send it. Your profile and everything else stay private unless you turn them on.
- Each company makes its own decisions. We don’t promise replies, interviews or work, and we’re not part of any agreement between you and a company.
- Real companies don’t charge you to apply. If a post asks for money, report it.
5. Your content
- You keep ownership of what you add: posts, work, answers, notes and messages.
- You give us permission to store, copy, show and process it only to run Shortlist.expert. For example, to show an application to the team you sent it to, show a published post to the public, or make previews of uploaded work.
- This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from short-lived backups and what our privacy policy says a company keeps.
- You confirm you have the right to share what you add, and that it doesn’t break the law or anyone else’s rights.
6. Acceptable use
Don’t use Shortlist.expert to:
- break the law, or post content that’s misleading, hateful, harassing, sexual or violent;
- run scams, fake jobs, pyramid schemes or anything that charges applicants;
- upload malware, or content you don’t have the rights to;

7. AI
- Hiring teams can use AI to draft and edit posts and application forms from what they give it.
- Drafts can be wrong or incomplete. Check them before you publish.
- AI never reads, scores, ranks or rejects applicants. People decide.
8. Reporting and removal
- Report a post with “Report this post” on its job page, or email us.
- We may remove content, pause or close posts, or suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put people at risk. Where we can, we’ll tell you why.
- If you think we got it wrong, email us and we’ll look again.
9. Fees
Shortlist.expert is free to use right now. If we add paid plans, we’ll tell you before anything is charged, and nothing is charged without your agreement.

- We work to keep it running and secure, but we can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors.

12. Disclaimers
- We don’t check every post or applicant, and we don’t promise that what people add is accurate.
- We don’t promise any hire, any number of applicants or any result.
- Hiring decisions, and any work, pay or contract that follows, are between the company and the applicant.
- As far as the law allows, Shortlist.expert is provided “as is” and “as available”, without other promises.

- If you use Shortlist.expert for a business, you’ll cover our reasonable costs from claims caused by your posts, your use of applicants’ data or your breaking these terms.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn’t allow us to limit, or your rights as a consumer.
14. Ending these terms
- You can stop using Shortlist.expert and delete your account at any time.
- We can suspend or close your access if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or if we stop running the service. Unless there’s a risk to people or the service, we’ll give you notice first.
- Sections 5, 12, 13, 16 and 17 keep applying after these terms end.
15. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we’ll update the date at the top. For changes that matter, we’ll email you or show a notice in the app before they take effect. If you keep using Shortlist.expert after that, the new terms apply. If you don’t agree, stop using it and delete your account.
16. Law and disputes
- These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India decide disputes about them.
- If you’re a consumer, you can also use the laws and courts where you live, if they give you that right.
- Before going to court, email us so we can try to sort it out together.
17. General

- If part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies.
- If we don’t enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- You can’t transfer these terms to someone else without our agreement. We can transfer them if Shortlist.expert is sold or merged.
